Lighting for Film and Television Qualification No : 7507 Type : NVQ Level : 3,4 Levels 3 - 4 NVQs in Lighting for Film and Television This content is relevant for: - Adult learners: These NVQs are based on NOS developed by Skillset to meet industry demands for qualifications for lighting in film and television. Skillset, ASPEC and employers, have worked together to develop the NOS and qualifications, which allow lighting technicians and gaffers to demonstrate they have the technical skills and knowledge required to work safely on Film and TV productions. There are five separate qualifications aimed at specific job roles:

  • Level 3 NVQ in Film and Television (Lighting Technician)
  • Level 3 NVQ in Film and Television (Best Boy)
  • Level 3 NVQ in Film and Television (Console Operator)
  • Level 3 NVQ in Film and Television (Generator Operator)
  • Level 4 NVQ in Film and Television (Gaffer).

Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment Qualification No : 2377
Type : Vocational Level : 3 This qualification is suitable for practising electricians familiar with the use of the IEE Code of Practice for in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment

Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology Qualification No : 2330
Type : Vocational Level : 2,3 This award provides the underpinning knowledge in electrotechnology and safety needed for anyone planning to take up a career in this industry. The certificate can be taken within a centre environment and will support learners taking an apprenticeship in electrotechnical engineering. This certificate combines generic elecrotechnical knowledge with a range of optional units designed to complement any of these career choices: Electrical Installation (Buildings and Structures), Electrical Maintenance, Installing Instrumentation and Associated Equipment, Highway Electrical Systems, Electrotechnical Panel Building, Electrical Machine Rewind and Repair.

Qualification Name : Electrical and Electronic Servicing Qualification No : 6958
Type : PA Level : 2,3 If you're looking for a career in electronics servicing this qualification could help. It covers home entertainment equipment such as TVs, CD and DVD machines, domestic equipment such as washing machines and commercial equipment including PCs.

Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS 7671: January 2008)  Qualification No : 2382 Type : Vocational Level : 3 This qualification replaces 2381, due to the update of the Wiring Regulations (now 17th Edition). A qualification intended for those already qualified in the electrical contracting industry.

Qualification Name : Certificate in Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial Verification Qualification No : 2392 Type : Vocational Level : 2 This qualification is aimed at practising electricians who have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require some update training before going on to achieve the 2391-10.

Qualification Name : Inspection, Testing, Design and Certification of Electrical Installations  Qualification No : 2391 Type : Vocational Level : 3 If you want to inspect and test electrical installations, then this qualification is right for you. It satisfies the NICEIC's requirement that prospective qualifying managers and operatives fully understand and comply with the requirements of BS7671.
